Boston’s The Main Drag like to keep it fun and upbeat. Their songs are crafted intelligently with guitars and keyboards, their rhythms are made for dancing. Dredg played the Varsity Theater back on April 10, and though we were unable to make the show, fellow bloggers from Mind Inversion did capture some of the action. You can read a review they wrote HERE, and below is posted some live footage.
Now Dredg will play Station 4 in St. Paul on August 9, a venue in my opinion more fit for the San Fran rockers. However, the lead singer seems a little reserved live, not recommended behavior at Station 4. Grain Belt, that’ll get him movin’.
At what points do electronic music and rock n’ roll articulate? The new Presets video for “Kicking and Screaming” tackles this question pretty well, I think, and is rock n’ roll both musically and in its imagery. These Aussie’s can’t come to America soon enough. I’m digging on this, how about you?
The Black Keys‘ Dan Auerbach has released a video for “Heartbroken, In Disrepair,” off his latest solo album Keep It Hid. In the video Dan and Co. are shown rocking out on the American Plains. As someone who has trod upon more plainsland than the average American, I enjoy the video, if for nothing other than the beauty of the landscape.
You’ll probably be bored. Dan Auerbach plays Lollapalooza in Chicago on Aug. 9.
Today is May 27, 2009, and methinks it fascinating how tour schedules fall as fesitvals rise.
Sick of Sarah just announced the release of a new E.P., The Best Thing, featuring a video mix of their song “Bittersweet,” a demo of “Autograph,” and two more tracks from the band’s repetoire. It’s available for purchase via
Speed’s the Name have a lot going for them right now, and deservedly so! They have a new article in the City Pages this week, they have an upcoming appearance on Northern Outpost, and they of course are a featured “download” band here on Borangutan! Now’s the time to see what the fuss is about and show up to their CD release this Saturday evening at the Hexagon Bar. Show starts at 9PM.
