The Mars Volta’s new video for “Since We’ve Been Wrong” plays like an old film projector, sometimes appearing as through the lens of an antique television, other times like… I don’t know, just watch it. You’ll see why words are troubling me.
“Since We’ve Been Wrong” is off The Mars Volta’s latest album Octahedron, released just this week. Wouldn’t it be nice if they came to Minnesota? Maybe in the fall.

I’m seriously digging this new tune and video by Leeds’ Wild Beasts. Sure, the underwater thing has been done countless times, even in a certain Minnesota band’s video. But that doesn’t mean the video is not well done (it is), or that the song is tired (it certainly is not!)
“Hooting and Howling” is off Wild Beasts’ forthcoming album Two Dancers, coming out August 3. A North American tour hasn’t been announced.

Kim Deal and The Breeders are most heavily known for their hit “Cannonball,” but there’s so much more to this band. Last year they released a full length album titled Mountain Battles, and now this year they’re touring on a new EP Fate to Fatal. Four LP’s and one EP into their career, there’s plenty beyond “Cannonball”! Wanna hear something?

J. Mascis and Co. will be hitting First Ave. on Nov. 18 this year, just before you hit the turkey about a week later. Dinosaur Jr. albums still sound so good to me 15 – 20 years afterward. I just can’t get enough. But to this day I have never seen the band live, and this show somehow represents a special opportunity for me.
Does it seem odd that I would be troubed by absent regrets moreso over this show than, say, U2?!
Here’s two new tracks off Dinosaur Jr.’s latest album Farm.
