Future Islands Coming to the Triple Rock Social Club, May 2 (w/ Dan Deacon)
There is a rather grey line between a lot of electronic music and rock n’ roll. Recently I was chatting with a friend about this, and we agreed that Depeche Mode rocks any way you cut it. After all, c’mon, “Personal Jesus” is a rock tune, both to the ears as well as the psyche. I think the same is true of bands like Joy Division, Devo, and yes, Future Islands. Perhaps in the near future we’ll post a Borangutan article that delves further into the articulating points of rock and electronic, but for now, listen to a tune from Future Islands. They rock.
Catch Future Islands at the Triple Rock on May 2. They’ll be joined by Dan Deacon (headlining) and Teeth Mountain. There will be an early show (5PM, all ages) and a late show (9PM, 21+).
