l 69927b9a780a5462fea6bab030d73f8b MUTEMATH Tour Dates, Coming to First Avenue, Oct. 17MUTEMATH has always seemed like a little indie band that could, despite the fact they’ve been a major label product most of their career.  Most of their music is just eclectic enough to be Top 40 unfriendly, yet just mainstream enough to rope in a Coldplay fan or two.

The band is currently back and forth between Japan and the N. American continent right now, and amidst their busy schedule they’ve wired in the First Avenue mainroom on Oct. 17.  This is good news, since I’ve wanted to catch the band live ever since I got a phone call  three and a half years ago, telling me MUTEMATH was the next big thing!  They could be, but if so, it’s a little slow in coming.  No matter what, I’ll still think they rock, and here’s why.

I’ve been wanting to see these guys for awhile. Their story is an interesting one and I enjoyed their first album quite a bit.

Indeed, are you referring to the story on their myspace page? It seems every band reaches a creative breaking point at some time. That’s when they find out what they’re really made of, inside and out. ;)
