The Weakerthans, coming to the Triple Rock on Sept. 26
With all of the Canadian jokes floating around, it’s funny to think back to last year when many Americans were threatening to move up there, depending on the election out come. Well we’re all still here, and we can get a feel for the goods Canada has to offer without leaving the country. The Weakerthans have been praised by one critic as, “the best band from Canada” (Isolation). They have a pop punk side that maintains high energy, but it’s the down tempo side that reveals their poetic song writing. The songs are smart, introspective, and assume the same of its listeners. You can expect that range from front man John Sampson, former bassist of Propagandi. On Sept. 26th at the Triple Rock Social Club a piece of Canada comes to us.
