Once upon a time there was a little St. Paul band named Hockey Night.  They showed up in all sorts of cool places online including Daytrotter and SPIN.  Then one day, as rumor has it, things fell apart internally and folks went their separate ways.

Paul Spranger and Scott Wells of Hockey Night moved to Philly, and then formed Free Energy, a new band with a vintage rock ‘n roll sound.  They played the Triple Rock Social Club last Thursday night, and I missed it (darnit!).  But luckily, they left Minnesotans like me something to help get over the loss: their brand slappin’ new single also known as “Free Energy.”
