Alison Scott’s weird, wild, and wacky week

alisonscott Alison Scotts weird, wild, and wacky week92.5 KQRS held a contest recently where two local bands would be selected to open for Bon Jovi during his two-night stand at the Xcel Center this week on April 7th & 8th. A large pool of applicants were narrowed down to eight finalists, who all frantically rallied their fanbases and the general public to vote for them over the course of a week as the top two vote-getters would earn an opening slot for one of the nights.

Alison Scott was one of the finalists and actually got to open at Bon Jovi’s Thursday show, yet not because she won the contest. An error in tallying votes resulted in Alison being notified that she had won, but then hours later hearing that there was an error and she hadn’t actually won. Yet in the end, Jon Bon Jovi himself (!) saved the day.

Read her blog post about the whole situation for what proves to be one of the most bizarre and surreal stories I’ve read about relating to recent Minnesota music since someone plucked a kid out of a basement south of the Twin Cities and made him into an international pop star.
