Be a Part of Roster McCabe’s New Album

Roster McCabe

Roster McCabe is by far one of the hardest-working bands in the Twin Cities right now. While touring almost constantly from Denver to Nashville and all points in-between since 2008, they’ve built up a dedicated following that has seen them pack The Cabooze in Minneapolis and numerous other venues in the midwest on multiple occasions. Suffice it to say, they’re probably one of the best bands to see and hear in town right now too, assuming you like your rock music with plenty of funk, melody, and danceable rhythm included of course.

However, as an independent, full-time band in this era of high gas prices and a financially-stricken music industry (not to mention the economy), they need all the support they can get from fans, friends, and music lovers in general just to keep going. That’s why today, Roster McCabe announced a pledge drive via kickstarter.com to raise money towards recording their new studio album, due out in 2010.

The band hopes to raise at least $10,000 for recording by February 9th. Amazingly, as of this post they’ve already received over $2,000 in pledges, though that represents only a small portion of the anticipated costs obviously.

Here’s a video with information about the fund drive (and a few laughs) straight from the band:

Show some love for one of the most promising up-and-coming acts in town and consider pledging today. In true classic telethon fashion, the band is offering a wide variety of donation levels and gifts. For example, $1 gets you access to live streaming of the band in studio, $25 gets you a copy of the new CD before its official release, and $1,000 (which has actually already been pledged by one especially philanthropic individual!) will get you a smorgasbord of band goodies plus an acoustic performance right in your living room.

And if you don’t have a penny to spare, you can still follow along with the creation of the new album and download FREE live shows on Roster McCabe’s Archive.org site. The archive site features a number of songs which could end up on the new album, including “Spark a Light”, “All It Takes”, and my newest personal favorite “Stargazer”, which you can find a live in-studio performance of here.
