U2 Releases “Magnificent” Video
Folks over at Stereogum latched onto this from Yahoo!. Here’s what they had to say about its background and making:
According to Daniel Lanois, No Line On The Horizon standout “Magnificient” was “born in Fez,” Morocco and features Moroccan percussionists. And when you have the budget to say things like “our song was born in Fez,” you have the budget to film your video in Fez. Director Alex Courtes, the visionary behind the perfect (shit)storm that was “Get On Your Boots,” plays it relatively tastefully here, filming the band in a Moroccan courtyard while sheets float all over the city American Beauty style. Please note the band is standing on Moroccan rugs, because in case you were wondering they filmed in Morocco.
I wonder how much money the enterprise injected into the local Moroccan economy. I’m sure it was a joyous occasion. Now you enjoy!
