Gossip “Heavy Cross” Video
June 12th, 2009
I was just recently turned onto Portland’s Gossip, and there’s cause to be thankful. This band’s funky punches are just the right licks to get a Friday evening started. So here’s “Heavy Crosses,” a video with some crazy anachronism, although I haven’t quite pinned down the exact time period the band is shooting for. Any interpretive suggestions? (Maybe they’re just into vintage attire.)
“Heavy Crosses” is off Gossip’s album Music For Men, breaking on June 23.
We’re in the Twilight zone! As riotriotriot.com so kindly pointed out, the video above is not the official video for “Heavy Crosses.” But by happenstance, Gossip actually did release their new video for “Heavy Crosses” yesterday via perezhilton.com. Here’s the real deal, compare and contrast.

this is not the official video. it is a fan video i am sure.
Fixed! Well, sort of.
Thanks for the head’s up riotriotriot.
gotta say. the fan video blows the real video out of the water. The original is captivating and the official belongs at a drag bar in some po-dunk town. Love The Gossip. Not impressed with this video so much though. Bummer. I really loved the fan video and wanted to give The Gossip credit for dreaming it up.
@tyler
I see your point, tyler. I think both videos have desirable aspects. The fan vid is well done enough to feign “officiality,” and to that credit is due. Lord knows there are plenty of crappily made fan videos out there!
